Kitchen extract system cleaning — Mulhouse area
Overnight work on the complete system, from canopy to roof discharge.
A traditional restaurant in the Mulhouse area, with a single canopy and an extract system discharging at roof level. The work formed part of the establishment's scheduled cleaning programme. We began with an endoscopic inspection of the system, to locate the most heavily soiled sections and identify the areas reachable only through access panels. This survey determines the method: a straight run of ductwork and a bend close to the fan, where grease builds up fastest, are not treated the same way. Cleaning covered the system in full: canopy, filters, ductwork, extract fan and discharge point. Mechanical and hand cleaning, down to bare metal. The fan was removed so that the impeller and housing could be cleaned, then returned to service after checks on the bearings, drive belts and current draw. The work was carried out overnight, outside service hours, with no interruption to trading. Grease waste was removed through the appropriate disposal route. Extract airflow was measured before and after the work. The client received a full photographic record of every section treated, the airflow readings, and a certificate of works that can be passed to their insurer and filed in the maintenance log attached to the building's safety register. Is your system in this condition? You will only know by looking inside. See our hood maintenance service.
